Power electronics and control

From FPGA and controls to power modules - everything from one source, tailored to your needs

Our electronics development department has many years of experience in

  • creating circuit diagrams and layouts
  • verifying design through circuit simulation
  • implementing laboratory fixtures for testing and safeguarding of designs
  • commissioning and testing electronic circuits
  • overview of and responsibility for the entire system - not just for subcomponents
  • proof of quality and safety by FMEA
  • design of power electronics systems
  • power electronics with optimized use of space
  • development and production of in-house power modules (IGBT / MOSFET)
    • optimal usage of semi-conductors used
    • optimized, low-inductance design of power modules
    • integrating snubber capacitors
  • planning system tests
  • commissioning and carrying out measurements, and documenting system tests

power modules

Compact integration of inverters in our electromechanical transformers very often require power electronics with optimized use of space.

Common power modules frequently do not fulfill these requirements; so, we are able to develop and produce our own power modules based on IGBT, MOSFET, and SiC, if necessary.

Great emphasis is placed on optimal usage of the semiconductors. An optimized, low-inductive module design and the integration of snubber capacitors allow power electronics to be used in even the smallest installation spaces.

computing platform

Compact Dynamics has various computing platforms for controlling the power unit.

For development projects, we use our own, powerful, computing platform, which consists of a 32-bit micro-controller and an FPGA or computing platform for automotive applications (AUTOSAR®-compliant).

Switching frequencies of up to 60 kHz are part of the development standard at Compact Dynamics.
